Job description

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible rehires and external hires that meet required qualifications and conditions of payment. This department has full-time, part-time, and on-call openings and is hiring for all three.

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence or absence of disease, utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with invasive echocardiography procedures, including but not limited to Transesophageal echocardiography, trans-catheter echo-guided procedures (location-specific), pericardiocentesis, echo-guided myocardial biopsies (location-specific), contrast-enhanced exams, exercise, and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures to meet special circumstances and provide clinically useful information in a cost-effective manner.

Required Qualifications:

• Oregon Sonographer certification upon hire
• National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire
• National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire
• National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Applied Science from a CAAHEP-accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• One year of experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, or a minimum of 800 exams using all available imaging modalities
• Pediatric echocardiography experience
• Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices)
• Experience with echo-guided trans-catheter procedures (St. Vincent Medical Center)
