Job summary

Providence is seeking an Echocardiograph Technologist to join Covenant Children’s Hospital. Under supervision, you will perform echocardiograms to assess heart function and provide diagnostic data for cardiologists.

You will obtain patient information and explain testing, review images and measurements for interpretation, and perform related diagnostic testing as needed. The role supports a patient-focused care culture within a family-centered hospital environment, contributing to high-quality

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent education/experience.
• ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Sonographer upon hire.
• CCCI Cardiovascular Credentials upon hire.
• American Heart Association BLS certification upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years ultrasound/cardiovascular experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms to produce diagnostic data for cardiologist review.
• Obtain pertinent patient information and explain the test purpose and duration to patients.
• Review image data and measurements for provider interpretation.
• Provide other diagnostic testing as defined by scope of practice.

Echocardiograph Technologist

Under general supervision of the Supervisor & Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and according to established policies and procedures, performs echocardiograms to produce diagnostic data assessing heart function and capability to be used by the cardiologist to enhance the care and treatment of the patient. In doing so, obtains pertinent patient information and explains the purpose and duration of testing to the patients. Reviews image data as well as calculation measurements for interpreting provider. Provides other diagnostic testing defined by scope of practice.

Ages of patients: Infant to geriatric.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training Successful completion of an accredited academic program in Echocardiography or equivalent educ/experience
• Upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 2 years Ultrasound/Cardiovascular experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year Echocardiography experience.
