Providence Health & Services is seeking an echocardiography technician to perform echocardiograms and contribute to patient care. The role involves acquiring patient information, explaining testing procedures, and ensuring accurate image data for interpretation by the cardiologist.
The candidate should have two years of ultrasound/cardiovascular experience and complete an accredited echocardiography program or equivalent education. Certification paths are noted to be obtained after hire.
Under general supervision of the Supervisor & Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and according to established policies and procedures, performs echocardiograms to produce diagnostic data assessing heart function and capability to be used by the cardiologist to enhance the care and treatment of the patient. In doing so, obtains pertinent patient information and explains the purpose and duration of testing to the patients. Reviews image data and calculations for the interpreting provider and provides other diagnostic testing defined by scope of practice.
