Job summary

Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR seeks an Echocardiograph Technologist to perform cardiac ultrasound exams per physician orders. The role requires applying extensive anatomy and physiology knowledge to identify disease, and includes assisting physicians with invasive echocardiography such as transesophageal echo and echo-guided procedures.

Per Diem/Day Shift role, with Providence’s focus on patient-focused, whole-person care.

Qualifications

• Must hold Oregon Sonographer licensure on hire.
• Must hold one of: RN Cardiac Sonographer (NRC) or Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (NACS) or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) per credentialing bodies.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac ultrasound exams per physician orders using complex ultrasound equipment.
• Identifies presence/absence of disease with anatomy/physiology knowledge.
• Assists physicians with invasive echocardiography including TEE and echo-guided procedures.

Per Diem/Day Shift

Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations according to physician's orders, utilizing a variety of complex ultrasound equipment. Objectively identifies the presence of or absence of disease utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Assists physicians with more invasive echocardiography examinations including, but not limited to, Transesophageal echocardiography, Trans-catheter echo guided procedures (location specific), pericardiocentesis, echo guided myocardial biopsies (location specific), contrast enhanced exams, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiography. Has the ability to modify procedures, to meet special circumstances and/or provide clinically useful information on a cost-effective basis.

Required qualifications:

• upon hire: Oregon Sonographer.
• upon hire: National Registered Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Or
• upon hire: National Advanced Cardiac Sonographer - Cardiovascular Credentialing International.Or
• upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate's Degree inApplied Science, from a CAAHPE accredited school in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• 1 year Experience performing cardiovascular ultrasound examinations, OR.
• Minimum of 800 exams using all imaging modalities available.
• Pediatric echocardiography experience.
• Familiarity with imaging support of advanced heart failure patients (mechanical support devices).
• Experience with echo guided trans-catheter procedures. (St. Vincent Medical Center).
