Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria, LA is seeking an Echocardiography Technician to perform quality diagnostic echo procedures independently, under cardiologist input. The role requires adapting care to diverse patient ages and coordinating with the service line to maintain efficient operations.

Responsibilities include routine echocardiograms, TEEs, stress echocardiograms, and daily communication with physicians. A high school diploma and BLS are required, with ultrasound tech education preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in cardiology preferred.
• Experience with stress testing is preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease.
• Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Performs stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
• Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation. Checks weekly for needed supplies.
• Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in an age-specific manner.
• Adapts assessment and treatment to age-specific needs.
• Demonstrates adherence to Christus Healthcare Core values.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Skills

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred

Experience

• Two years of experience in cardiology field preferred
• Experience with stress testing is preferred

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS required
• DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI within (18 months OR 1 year) of hire preferred
