Job summary

Thomas H Boyd Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time echocardiography technician to perform comprehensive echocardiographic procedures and related diagnostic tests. The role involves ensuring high-quality images, collaborating with medical staff, and maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

The ideal candidate will have RDCS certification or registry eligibility, BLS certification, strong communication and EMR documentation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of anatomy and imaging factors to produce high quality echocardiographic images.
• Review images for quality before exam completion.
• Obtain pertinent medical history to optimize exams and communicate with other medical professionals.
• Provide patient-centered care with effective communication to assure rapport.
• Monitor patient condition and take appropriate actions to ensure continuity of care.
• Review equipment and supply needs; contribute to purchasing decisions.

Description

Performs Echocardiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of heart disease according to established standards on patients. This position also requires the ability to perform other diagnostic procedures, including stress testing. This is a PRN or part-time position.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of sectional anatomy & select the proper technical factors and imaging modes in order to produce high quality images, along with positioning the patient and equipment.
• Review images for quality before completion of exam.
• Obtain and utilize pertinent medical history to obtain optimum exams, and communicate with pertinent medical professionals.
• Utilize effective patient care and communicate skills to obtain optimum patient rapport.
• Monitor patient condition and take appropriate action to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Review and recommend equipment/supply purchases
