The Cynet Health Radiology department in Alexandria, LA, seeks an Echo Tech for a 13-week assignment. You will perform non-invasive cardiovascular ultrasound, echocardiograms, Doppler, and color flow mapping under physician orders, with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

Experience: 2 years in the field of Cardiovascular Ultrasound and non-invasive procedures.

License: Must have one of the following certifications:

Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) granted by ARDMSRegistered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) granted by CCIRegistered Vascular Sonographer granted by ARDMS or CCI, with at least two years of echo experience.

Certifications: Current BLS certification via AHA required.

Must-Have:

Educational training in non-invasive cardiology areas; basic arrhythmia and advanced arrhythmia training preferred.

Description:The Echocardiogram Technician is responsible for performing various non-invasive cardiovascular procedures.

The technician is expected to function in an expedient and professional manner.

Positive behavior is essential when interacting with patients, family members, physicians, and co-workers.

Responsibilities include performing echocardiograms per departmental policy and procedure in a professional manner.

Using AIDET, the technician introduces themselves, calls patients by name, and makes them comfortable with their surroundings.

The technician competently performs echocardiograms, cardiac Doppler, and color flow mapping per physician orders for both outpatients and inpatients of all ages.

Utilization of sonicated contrast is directed and within the guidelines of the ACC and the ASE.

The technician assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms per physician orders.

They perform stress echocardiograms in all modalities and appropriately transmit pediatric echocardiograms.

Participation in call rotation is required to provide 24/7 coverage for echocardiography.

Completing appropriate documentation and charges associated with the services provided is essential.

The technician communicates with physicians in a professional manner regarding test results and pertinent patient information.

Other tasks may be assigned by the Director, and the technician should be able to fulfill the role of Cardiovascular Tech when necessary.

Maintaining appropriate infection control procedures is crucial, including cleaning machines daily and between patients with appropriate disinfectants.

The technician appropriately cleans all lead wires on stress/echo machines.

High-level disinfection of TEE probes after each use must be completed or arranged for appropriate disinfection by other qualified personnel.

The technician stocks all supplies and cleans and readies equipment necessary for the next day's schedule.

Standard precautions must be used with all patients.

The technician performs clerical and additional tasks as assigned, including answering telephones in a courteous manner and assisting or directing callers to the appropriate person or service area.

Using office equipment competently, including fax, copier, and printer, as well as being proficient in necessary computer skills to fulfill daily responsibilities is expected.

The technician charges for EKGs and retrieves reports from the reporting system as needed.

Completing preliminary echo reports within the reporting system is required.

Participation in continuing education as required is necessary.
