Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrolled and in good standing in an accredited 2-year/Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/Sonography (Required).
• High School Diploma (Required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

• Perform adult echocardiography and vascular ultrasound exams under supervision.
• Assist ECHO Vascular staff in patient care and maintain quality standards.
• Provide leadership and training within the department as needed.
• Support OR with ultrasound-guided procedures and pediatric echocardiography as required.

Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the team. Participates in unit activities that enhance and promote quality patient care outcomes in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the patient care services of Phoebe.

Essential Functions

• ABLE TO PERFORM ADULT ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY/ VASCULAR ULTRASOUND EXAMS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A CERTIFIED/REGISTERED ECHO VASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST:
• Perform required exams with supervision that meet quality standards of the lab and interpreting physicians.
• Act as a resource in area of expertise.
• Provide leadership and training opportunities to department through department stand ups and on the job training.
• Adult Echo/ Pediatric Echo/ Adult Vascular Exams.
• TEE Echocardiography.
• Assist OR with ultrasound guided procedures.
• Perform Pediatric Echocardiography as required.

TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USE

• Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
• Understands equipment operation.
• Maintains equipment in working order.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems.
• Uses technology to increase productivity.
