Job summary

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Inc. in Albany, GA seeks an Echo Technologist to perform standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests, including adult and pediatric echocardiography and peripheral vascular studies.

You will assist physicians with ultrasound-guided exams, perform bubble studies, and provide direct patient care across all ages while maintaining competency and a professional image. This PRN/Per Diem role requires adaptability, quality, and adherence to department standards.

Qualifications

• Education Requirements: 2 year / Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/ Sonography (Required); In lieu of an Associates Degree; a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable.
• Experience Requirements: 1 - 2 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Required)

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests including adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, and peripheral vascular studies.
• Assists Physician with ultrasound guided exams and bubble studies using Optison, Definity, or Lumason.

Job Description Summary: Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests to include Two specialties of these three adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography and peripheral vascular studies of upper and lower extremities and carotid arteries. Assist Physician with ultrasound guided exams. Perform studies with accuracy and precision necessary to satisfy department standards and Physician interpreters while projecting a professional image , conserving hospital property and assets and meeting competency requirements. Performs injection of bubble studies and ultrasound enhancement agents such as Optison, Definity and/or Lumason. Provides direct patient care to all ages.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
• For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be scheduled as needed including overtime.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES

• Required Certifications/Licensures: Basic Life Support (BLS), Must be able to sit for ARDMS Registry in Adult Echo, Pediatric Echo or Vascular Technology
