Job summary

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Inc. is seeking a qualified cardiovascular ultrasound technologist to perform noninvasive tests including adult, pediatric echocardiography and peripheral vascular studies.

Assists physicians and maintains high standards of accuracy and patient care on a weekend PRN basis. Responsibilities include performing bubble studies and contrast injections, and providing direct patient care across all ages while upholding equipment and safety standards in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 2 year / Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology/ Sonography (Required) ;In lieu of an Associates Degree; a Minimum of 4 years additional relevant experience is acceptable.
• 4 - 5 years Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS), RDMS in Adult Echo or Pediatric Echo or RDV (RVT)

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests including echocardiography and peripheral vascular studies.
• Assist Physician with ultrasound-guided exams.
• Perform bubble studies and ultrasound enhancement agent injections (Optison, Definity, Lumason).
• Provide direct patient care to all ages.

Job Description Summary: Performs a variety of standardized noninvasive cardiovascular tests to include three specialties of these four: adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography and peripheral vascular studies of upper and lower extremities and carotid arteries. Assist Physician with ultrasound guided exams. Perform studies with accuracy and precision necessary to satisfy department standards and Physician interpreters while projecting a professional image , conserving hospital property and assets and meeting competency requirements. Performs injection of bubble studies and ultrasound enhancement agents such as Optison, Definity and/or Lumason. Provides direct patient care to all ages.

WORKING CONDITIONS

General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be scheduled as needed including overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS - Internal EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
