Job summary

HCA Florida Citrus Hospital is seeking an Echo Technologist to join its team on a PRN basis. You will perform echocardiography procedures, verify orders, and assist physicians with data collection and interpretation within established protocols.

The role emphasizes patient communication, accuracy in data collection, and collaboration with cardiology to ensure timely diagnostic results. This position supports the hospital’s mission to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Sonography program.
• ARDMS registry or registry eligible.
• BLS certification.
• One to three years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician order and review patient’s cardiac history prior to the procedure.
• Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner according to procedures.
• Collect clear data for physician analysis of cardiac structure and function.
• Ensure reports are processed and provided to physician at completion of procedure.
• Maintain effective communication with patient and explain procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintain proactive communication with cardiologist regarding any unusual findings or history.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Echo Technologist, you will be responsible and accountable in performing procedures, and contributes to physician diagnosis. You will also drive key business improvements and results.

Your tasks and responsibilities include:

• You will verify physician order and review patient’s cardiac history prior to the procedure.
• You will prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
• You will collect clear data for physician analysis of cardiac structure and functioning.
• You will ensure reports are processed and report data is provided to physician at completion of procedure.
• You will maintain effective communication with patient; provides explanation procedures within scope of practice.
• You will maintain proactive and effective communication with cardiologist regarding any unusual clinical findings or history.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited; approved program in Sonography
• Registry/registry eligible from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• BLS
• One to three years’ experience
• Organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, computer, clerical
