Job summary

Mercy Hospital Bakersfield seeks a skilled Echo Tech/Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and support cardiovascular diagnoses. You will operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring patient comfort and high-quality cardiac imaging.

Responsibilities include selecting proper probes, transmitting images to PACS, and troubleshooting equipment while maintaining clear communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• Technologist will have graduated from nationally recognized Cardiac Echo ultrasound program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience performing 2-D, M-Mode, and Color Flow Doppler Echoes on adults.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required or in progress.

• Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data.
• Transmits digital images to the PACS system for archiving and retrieval of patient information.
• Select appropriate probes to obtain optimal results for cardiologist interpretation.
• Troubleshoot equipment to identify possible failures and report issues promptly.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.

Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

• Able to perform a complete array of Diagnostic Ultra Sound Procedures as ordered by a Physician.
• Able to select proper probe to obtain excellent results for Cardiologist interpretation.
• Able to trouble shoot equipment in determining possible failure.
• Uses positioning and immobilization devices as appropriate in safe and effective manner
• Transmits digital images to the PACS system for archiving and retrieval of patient information for filming.
• Reports equipment problems in an efficient manner.

Required

• Technologist will have graduated from nationally recognized Cardiac Echo ultrasound program
• Minimum of 1 year experience performing 2-D, M-Mode, and Color Flow Doppler Echo's on adults
• Basic Life Support - CPR and
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
