Job Summary and Qualifications

The Echo/Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist performs physician-ordered cardiac exams, including echocardiograms, TEEs, carotid imaging, tilt-table testing, and related procedures, following hospital standards. They operate diagnostic equipment, troubleshoot, document results, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Registry eligible for RDCS/RDMS-FE from ARDMS or RCS from CCI.
• Effective 01/01/2013, candidates must meet one of the registry-eligible provisions, such as completion of an accredited program with clinical experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI, with ARDMS registration in relevant specialties, or be within 12 months of obtaining required registries if eligible.

Essential Job Functions:

• Obtain signed physician orders, prioritize STAT exams, ensure patient consent, and explain procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment, maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms, stress tests, TEEs, carotid imaging, and other procedures with proficiency.
• Assist with tilt-table testing, patient preparation, and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate reports, perform high-level disinfection, and support system operations.
• Participate in on-call duties, system recovery, supply management, and uphold safety and ethical standards.
