AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform comprehensive heart imaging, including TEE and stress echo, and to support staff through leadership and training. You will ensure accurate test results, maintain equipment, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
The role requires 2+ years in cardiac ultrasound, BLS, and RDCS/RCS or equivalent certification; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physicians. Conducts specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo, EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors. Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines. Participates in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attends at least 80% of staff meetings to maintain high skill levels. Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes. Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness. Troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings. Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements. Provides leadership, support, and coordination to technical and support staff. Assists in the interviewing, selection, orientation, training, and mentoring of staff and students. Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities to ensure patient care and staff needs are met. Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
