Job summary

Premier Health is seeking a Registered Echocardiography Technologist to perform comprehensive echocardiography studies on adult patients under the supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services. The role includes 2D studies, stress echoes, contrast studies, flow studies, and TEEs, with studies prepared and uploaded to the PACS for physician review.

• Six to 12 months clinical echocardiography experience.
• CPR certification within 90 days from start date.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with staff, families and physicians.
• Extensive knowledge of cardiodiagnostic procedures and ability to explain tests to patients.
• High level of professional judgment and ownership in the patient care process.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiography procedures on adults including 2D studies, stress echoes, contrast studies, flow studies and TEEs.
• Prepare studies and upload them to the PACS system for physicians to read.
• Assist in day-to-day operations of the Echocardiography area under supervision of the Director.
• Demonstrate ability to recognize anatomical structures visualized and communicate results effectively.

Job description

Under supervision of the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services a Registered Echocardiography Technologist performs echocardiography procedures on adults such as echocardiograms, 2D studies, stress echoes, contrast studies, flow studies, and TEEs. Helps oversee day-to-day operations of Echocardiography area. Ability to recognize anatomical structures that are visualized and exercises professional demeanour and judgment in the performance of their duties. Prepares studies and uploads them to the PACS system for physicians to read.

Education: High School Graduate and be registered from the National Board of Cardiovascular Technology or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.

Licensure: Not applicable.

Certification: Completed registry exams from the National Board of Cardiovascular

Technology or by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

(ARDMS), or Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) as an RCS.

CPR Certification required within 90 days from date in position.

4. E xperience: Six to 12 months clinical experience and demonstrate appropriate competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required for interaction with staff, families, and physicians.

Skills/Other:

Must have Good interpersonal relations skills in order to deal with patients in motivating them, and in gaining their cooperation as many tests are performed in stressful conditions.

Must have extensive knowledge of the various cardiodiagnostic procedures so

He/she can thoroughly explain the test to the patient.

Major emphasis is placed upon diagnostic quality of the ECHO

Ability to interact with physicians and develop trust and credibility with physician customers while creating a system of responsiveness to customer needs.

High level of personal ownership in future success of the organization.
