Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking an Echocardiography Technologist to capture high-quality cardiac images and support physicians with critical data for diagnoses. You will work with advanced imaging equipment, ensure patient safety, and maintain precise digital records in PACS.

The role emphasizes technical expertise, accuracy, and collaboration with cardiology and imaging teams to deliver a seamless patient journey in a day shift with PRN coverage.

• Strong quality control practice to ensure accurate documentation and records.
• Ability to interpret and communicate imaging findings with clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Capture high-fidelity diagnostic images of cardiac structures and hemodynamics for physicians' assessments.
• Navigate advanced imaging tech and techniques to identify pathologies while meeting standards.
• Consult as a technical expert on anatomical findings and equipment limits to ensure actionable results.
• Maintain rigorous quality control and accurate, complete digital records (PACS).
• Coordinate end-to-end imaging experience from patient positioning to final documentation.

• Navigate advanced imaging technology and manual techniques to identify subtle pathologies, ensuring every study meets the highest clinical and regulatory standards.

• Champion patient safety and data integrity by maintaining rigorous quality control and ensuring all digital records (PACS) are precise, clear, and complete.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s)

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following:
• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
