Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Certification: BLS.
• Licenses: Current Echo Registry.
• Echo certification registry eligible within one year of employment or transfer into position.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition continually; reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment; selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results for image quality issues and takes corrective action.
