Legacy Health in Oregon is seeking an Echo Sonographer Site Lead to provide advanced imaging and to lead a dedicated team of sonographers at the Gresham site. You will perform complex echocardiograms and mentor staff while optimizing workflows to deliver safe, high-quality care.

As Site Lead, you will collaborate with physicians and nurses, maintain equipment, and promote a culture of compassion. RDCS/RDCS required; CPR/BLS current; Oregon licensure required; pay range is shown hourly.

Qualificações

  • Completion of accredited cardiac sonography certificate program.
  • Experience conducting transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Ability to mentor staff and collaborate with clinicians.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification and Oregon license requirements.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and support day-to-day staffing, workflow, and training.
  • Perform a full range of echocardiography studies (2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress).
  • Ensure imaging quality, equipment maintenance, and patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and management for optimal outcomes.
  • Mentor new staff and contribute to future cardiac imaging initiatives.

As the Site Lead, you’ll blend your advanced cardiac sonography skills with leadership responsibilities to ensure smooth daily operations at your site. From performing complex echocardiograms to mentoring staff and optimizing workflows, your expertise will help deliver safe, high-quality care while creating a positive environment for patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Lead & support your team – Coordinate day‑to‑day staffing, workflow, and training; act as a resource for complex cases and new technologies.
  • Deliver expert imaging care – Perform a full range of echocardiography studies, including 2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress echo, bubble studies, and more.
  • Champion quality & safety – Ensure the highest imaging standards, oversee equipment maintenance, and promote a safe, respectful patient experience.
  • Collaborate across teams – Work closely with physicians, nurses, and management to achieve the best outcomes for patients of all ages.
  • Mentor & grow – Onboard and guide new staff, share knowledge on advanced therapies, and help shape the future of cardiac imaging at Legacy.

What You Bring

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent
  • Expertise in echocardiography for a wide range of patient populations (neonate to geriatric)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills—you’re approachable, solution-oriented, and a natural collaborator
  • Ability to place IVs, administer contrast, and manage emergent situations
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of accredited cardiac sonography or echocardiography certificate program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification.

Skills:
  • Ability to conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms to evaluate heart function and structure in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Strong understanding of ultrasound technology and cardiac anatomy is essential.
  • Ability to maintain operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment to obtain high quality images of the heart.
  • Ability to Assess images for clarity and relevance, selecting the most appropriate ones for physician review.
  • Ability to document and prepare preliminary reports highlighting key observations for cardiologists.
  • Ability to explain procedures clearly and interact effectively with patients and the healthcare team.May assist in clinical research and training of new staff or students.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to navigate electronic health systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure
  • The current state license in Sonography is required for all employees who perform this job in the state(s) of practice. In the state of Oregon, additionally, the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license to practice is mandatory.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credentials are required at the time of hire.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
