Qualifications

• Basic Life Support certification required.
• May require Advanced Life Support certification if applicable.
• Eligible to sit for registry within hire period; pass within one year via ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS/ACS/RCCS).
• May meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require ISDH license, if applicable.
• Pass Basic EKG interpretation exam with >85% and repeat yearly.
• Must maneuver equipment and improvise positions as patient condition requires.
• Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience preferred.

Overview

This is a PRN Echo Cardiac Technologist opportunity at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Schedule

• PRN (as needed)
• Scheduled hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Availability is required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on departmental needs

Job Duties, Tasks and Qualifications:

Performs, administers & monitors Cardio-Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and doppler studies. Administers all Cardio-Diagnostic tests. Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images. Treats patients with care and respect.

• Basic Life Support certification required. May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
• Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one ofthe following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS.
• May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
• May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
• Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
• Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
• Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography, preferred.
