Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is seeking a skilled medical administrative professional to support the Cardiac Diagnostic Lab and its patient population. The role focuses on clerical tasks, order entry, and coordination with our clinical team to ensure accurate and timely care.

You will schedule and register patients, verify insurance, manage high-volume phone calls, and maintain the ECG database.

Qualifications

• Medical administrative and patient-facing experience required or preferred.
• Solid customer service skills and ability to handle high call volume.

Responsibilities

• Hooks up and instructs patients in the use of monitors (as required).
• Schedules appointments for outpatients and inpatients services.
• Registers patients and checks them in, verifies insurance.
• Manages heavy phone volume with referring providers.
• Maintains clerical management of ECG database systems.

The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Cardiac Diagnostic Lab provides non-invasive diagnostic services to inpatient and outpatient populations in conjunction with our partners, Washington University Physicians. The department provides the following services to our patients: Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms, Nuclear Stress Tests, Treadmill Exercise Stress Tests, Event and Holter Monitors and EKG Processing.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Supports the report processing and distribution functions associated with the Cardiac Diagnostic Lab. Also provides clerical support, manages database systems, and performs holters.

Responsibilities

• Hooks up and instructs patients in the use of monitors (as and when required).
• Schedules appointments for outpatients and inpatients services.
• Responsible for processing patient’s registrations, appointment check-ins and insurance verifications.
• Manage heavy phone volume with referring providers.
• Responsible for the clerical management of the ECG database systems (as and when required).
