NEWESD 101 in Washington state seeks an ECEAP assistant teacher to support the lead teacher in delivering quality early childhood development services to preschool children and their families.
You will follow the district calendar, work eight hours a day, Monday through Friday, and contribute to family engagement, lesson planning, and record-keeping in a collaborative center setting.
The job of ECEAP assistant teacher is done for the purpose of assisting the lead teacher in providing quality, comprehensive child development services to preschool children and their families and encouraging parental involvement in educational planning, goal setting, and center activities.
This position reports to the director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Birth-Grade 12 and the lead ECEAP teacher.
This position is eight hours per day, Monday - Friday following the typical school calendar. This position is housed in Loon Lake School District.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios, read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and present information to others, and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions. ABILITY is required to schedule activities, collate data, and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances, work with data utilizing defined and similar processes, and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and groups and work with similar types of data. In working with others, problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation. Specific abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include:
Responsibilities include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods, directing other persons within a small work unit, and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the agency's services.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 15% sitting, 35% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under some hazardous conditions.
Job related experience is desired
High School diploma or equivalent
The equivalent of 12 college quarter credits in Early Childhood or a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition preferred
