Job summary

Celestica, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer, Hardware Design eCAD Librarian in Austin to manage electronic component libraries and support PCB layout for high-density boards.

The role combines ECAD librarian duties with PCB design responsibilities, collaborating with global teams to ensure component accuracy and manufacturability. You will work with Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, Altium, and Mentor Xpedition, applying IPC standards and DFMA principles to deliver reliable hardware for server and AI

Qualifications

• Experience creating, updating, and maintaining ECAD component libraries.
• Knowledge of land patterns and DFMA/DFx considerations.
• Experience with high-density multi-layer PCB design.
• Familiarity with IPC-7351 and IPC-2221 standards.
• Ability to collaborate with mechanical and thermal engineers.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain accurate electronic component libraries in Allegro/OrCAD.
• Layout, route, and place components on high-density PCBs (12–28+ layers).
• Route high-speed, analog, RF, and mixed-signal circuits with impedance control.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize symbols and board layouts for form, fit, and function.
• Analyze datasheets and land patterns for DFMA/ DFA suitability.
• Audit libraries and resolve discrepancies; manage BOM attributes and lifecycle data.
• Integrate 3D STEP models for MCAD co-design and clearance validation.
• Leverage PLM systems for BOM management and part lifecycle tracking.
• Ensure compliance with IPC/JEDEC specifications and ECAD/MCAD integration best practices.
• Support continuous improvement using AI tools for symbol/footprint creation.
