Job Description / Preferred Qualifications

An ECAD Librarian is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing electronic component libraries, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with engineering teams to support PCB design processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Library Management: creating, updating, and maintaining accurate electronic component libraries within ECAD software platforms, managing lifecycle and ensuring accurate parts representation.
  • Collaboration with Engineers: working closely with hardware engineers and stakeholders to ensure design standards and requirements, handling library audits and resolving discrepancies.
  • Compliance and Standards: ensuring libraries comply with industry standards such as JEDEC and IPC, staying updated on regulatory requirements and implementing best practices.
  • Research and Development: researching new components and technologies, integrating them into the library, and ensuring relevance to the design needs.
  • Training and Support: providing training to team members on library management practices and assisting in the development of design tools and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical Proficiency: strong understanding of ECAD tools and software, skills in 3D modeling and basic drafting, experience with ORCAD and Al­legro software packages.
  • Analytical Skills: ability to analyze component data and ensure accuracy in library entries.
  • Communication Skills: effective communication for collaborating with engineers and team members.
  • Scripting Knowledge: familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Perl for automating library tasks.
  • 3‑5 years experience working with an ECAD library, 3D modeling, and basic drafting.
  • Experience with ORCAD and Allegro software packages.
Minimum Qualifications

Master’s Level Degree and 0 years related work experience; Bachelor’s Level Degree and related work experience of 2 years; or equivalent work experience.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $57,800.00 – $98,300.00 Annually
