Job summary

Carolina Achieve is seeking an enthusiastic Exceptional Children’s Teacher to join our team in Mebane, NC. The teacher will provide access to a rigorous education aligned with each student’s IEP, collaborating with general educators, families, and school leaders to create a supportive learning environment tailored to diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid North Carolina EC teaching license and/or Adaptive Curriculum license applicable to student population.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized or small-group instruction to EC students in general education and resource settings.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and accommodations for EC students.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in line with IDEA and state regulations, with EC Coordinator support.
• Use data-driven practices to assess progress and adjust instruction.
• Maintain accurate records including IEPs, progress reports, and assessments.
• Advocate for students to ensure access to necessary resources and supports.
• Implement behavioral strategies to support positive student outcomes.
• Communicate progress and needs with families and guardians.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, counselors, and administrators for comprehensive support.
• Participate in ongoing professional development for inclusive teaching.
