Job summary

Alamance-Burlington Schools Hawfields Middle in Mebane, NC, seeks an Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to deliver specialized instruction within the general curriculum with supports. You will plan, monitor IEPs, and collaborate with staff to support student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from an accredited program.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
• Employ special education strategies to improve development of skills.
• Instruct in academic subjects using multisensory methods and adaptations.
• Teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors per IEPs.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and maintain records in compliance with policy.
