Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must pass drug test, background check, and TB test prior to employment.
• Must meet one of the following ESSA requirements: Associate’s degree or higher; OR 30 semester hours of college coursework; OR WorkKeys test with specified levels.
• WorkKeys: Workplace Documents Level 4+; Applied Math Level 4+; Business Writing Level 3+.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality instruction.
• Provide individualized and small group support to students.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and on field trips.
• Assist with clerical, organizational, and instructional preparation tasks.
• Ensure student safety, discipline, and engagement in all learning environments.
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction under the teacher’s direction.
• Reinforce lessons, monitor student work, and encourage achievement.
• Demonstrate activities and keep students on task.
• Prepare instructional materials, visual aids, and classroom setup.
• Assist with grading, recording, and distributing materials.
• Serve as substitute teacher or testing proctor as assigned.
• Record attendance, grades, health data, and behavioral information.

Education

Associate’s degree or higher

30 semester hours of college coursework
