Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking an EC Teacher Assistant for Granite Quarry Elementary School in Granite Quarry, North Carolina. The selected candidate will assist the teacher in planning and organizing classroom activities and ensuring a safe environment for students.

Job Overview

EC Teacher Assistant – Granite Quarry Elementary School, Granite Quarry, North Carolina. Starting Date: Aug 3, 2026.

Purpose: To assist and support the teacher in the planning, organizing and preparation of instructional materials, and to provide support for clerical, technical and general classroom functions.

Qualifications

• 48 semester hours including core courses with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher at an accredited institution; or
• Associate degree or higher with an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher at an accredited institution; or
• WorkKeys testing: Math minimum score 4, Reading minimum score 4, Writing minimum score 3.
• Requires lifting of 15 pounds or more.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist and support the teacher with planning, organizing, evaluating instruction, and implementing the instructional program as directed, including collecting data on IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Assist the teacher in ensuring a safe and healthful environment.
• Help students understand school and classroom rules and regulations as directed by the teacher.
• Help students maintain cleanliness and neatness.
• Interact effectively with students, teachers, administrators, co‑workers, parents and community members.
• Serve as a role model by exhibiting positive behavior.
