Job summary

Onslow County Public Schools in Summersill Elementary is seeking an Exceptional Children Teacher – General Curriculum to provide specially designed instruction and collaborate with general education staff to support students with disabilities.

The ideal candidate will hold a North Carolina Exceptional Children teaching license, a bachelor's degree, and the ability to develop and monitor IEPs, collect data, and maintain compliant records within a 10‑month school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Holds or is eligible to hold a North Carolina Exceptional Children teaching license.
• Maintains licensure requirements established by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Successfully completes required district and state professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned to each student's IEP.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state law.
• Serve as case manager for assigned students.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain student performance data.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
