Job summary

Mingo County Schools seeks drivers for an after-school program, operating Tuesday and Thursday with routes based on student participation. Payment is $30 per day on days driven, and dates run November–April 2027, subject to enrollment.

Employment is as a contract/hourly extracurricular service personnel with flexibility based on program needs. Effective upon hire, routes and schedules may change, and drivers are WV certified bus operators employed by Mingo County Schools.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified School Bus Operator for the State of WV.
• Must be an employee of Mingo County Schools.
• Schedule based on program needs; compensated for days actually driven.

Responsibilities

• Transport students to and from school.
• Routes may be extended/shortened based on enrollment and may be shortened if fewer shifts are needed.
• Some routes may be lengthened at the program director's discretion.

Job description

• Position Type:

• Transport students to and from school
• These routes are approximate and may be either extended, shortened, or changed, depending on student enrollment.
• Should, for some unforeseen reason, the program be shortened to less than twodays per week or to fewer weeks, drivers will be paid for the days they drive.
• If during the course of the program, there are not a sufficient number of students on a specific run, that run will be discontinued.
• Anticipated dates for After school program is November - April 2027 -This may change as the program is depending on student enrollment
• Some of these routes may be significantly lengthened at the discretion of the program director.

Qualifications:

• Must be a certified School Bus Operator for the State of WV.
• Must be an employee of Mingo County Schools
• $30 per day on days driven. Regardless of seniority.

Effective Date:

• Upon Hire
• Schedule based on program needs. If during the course of the program there is not a sufficient number of students, the program will be discontinued.

Deadline for Receipt of Application:

Applicants who have unsatisfactory evaluations, have been dismissed or had their contracts non-renewed for cause by another school district will not be considered eligible for consideration
