Job summary

West Virginia Department of Education is seeking a contract/ hourly After School Transportation Driver for the Mingo County program. Routes are Tue/Thu, dependent on student participation, transporting students to and from school.

Compensation is $30 per day on days driven, with dates November–April 2027; program may be shortened, but drivers paid for days they drive. Employment requires WV School Bus Operator certification and current Mingo County Schools employment.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified WV School Bus Operator.
• Must be an employee of Mingo County Schools.
• Compensation and schedule based on program needs.

• Routes may be extended/shortened based on enrollment.

Job description

• Position Type:
  Contract/Hourly Employment/ Extracurricular Assignment - Service Personnel
  
• Tuesday and Thursday only, dependent upon student participation.
• Transport students to and from school
• These routes are approximate and may be either extended, shortened, or changed, depending on student enrollment.
• Should, for some unforeseen reason, the program be shortened to less than twodays per week or to fewer weeks, drivers will be paid for the days they drive.
• If during the course of the program, there are not a sufficient number of students on a specific run, that run will be discontinued.
• Anticipated dates for After school program is November - April 2027 -This may change as the program is depending on student enrollment
• Some of these routes may be significantly lengthened at the discretion of the program director.

Qualifications:

• Must be a certified School Bus Operator for the State of WV.
• Must be an employee of Mingo County Schools
• $30 per day on days driven. Regardless of seniority.

Effective Date:

• Upon Hire
• Schedule based on program needs. If during the course of the program there is not a sufficient number of students, the program will be discontinued.
