Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an eBeam System Supervisor in a leadership role within Underbody Systems Engineering. You will lead electrified system development, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive RFQ/DFMEA activities.

The position is hybrid with on-site requirements and offers a competitive salary range. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in transmission or eDrive, strong MBSE/CAD skills, and a solid foundation in vehicle dynamics and control systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years in transmission, eDrive, or powertrain development.
  • 5+ years using Microsoft tools.
  • 3+ years of CAD experience.
  • Masters in product development preferred.
  • MBSE tools, CAD/CAE, data analysis experience.
  • UML/SysML modeling knowledge.
  • Basic Python or Groovy scripting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead eBeam integration into existing and future EV architectures.
  • Provide technical system development throughout all phases of the vehicle program.
  • Define functional and physical properties of a Generator system.
  • Lead DFMEA and PFMEA activities.
  • Drive Tier 1 suppliers to meet schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Coordinate with Vehicle Engineering and Controls teams on interfaces.
  • Identify, track, and resolve engineering issues.
  • Support program launches.

In this position…

Ford Motor Company’s Underbody Systems Engineering (UnSE) team within the Product Development organization needs an eBeam System Supervisor to lead electrified system engineering development.

This position will provide the qualified candidate with an opportunity to work in a global, fast-paced, fun team environment with exposure to several cross‑functional areas including Electrified Propulsion Engineering, Electric Vehicle systems, NVH, Vehicle Operations, Tier 1/2 Suppliers and Program Management.

What you’ll do…
  • Lead eBeam integration into existing and future electric andEREV vehicle architectures.
  • Lead the team to provide technical system development throughout all phases of the vehicle program to ensure robust system engineering and program execution and performance.
  • Lead workwith program team to understand the required functional and physical properties of a Generator system.
  • Lead on system DFMEA and manufacturing PFMEA, SCCAF, etc.
  • Lead and drive Tier 1 supplier to manage them deliver our programs on time with best cost/quality.
  • Lead to work with Vehicle Engineering and Vehicle Controls team to ensure system / subsystem interfaces delivery.
  • Identifies, tracks, and resolves engineering issues.
  • Support program launches.
You’ll have…

BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
5+ years of transmission or eDrive unit or Powertrain development experience.
5+ years’ experience in Microsoft tools.
3+ years of CAD experience.
Even better, you may have…
Masters in product development or other Engineering degrees preferred.
Tools: Proficiency in MBSE tools, CAD/CAE simulation environments, and data analysis platforms.
Versed in UML and SysML modeling languages preferred.
Basic software writing in Python or Groovy preferred.
Model Based System Engineering development utilizing MagicDraw/3DX toolkit preferred.
Experienced in analyzing a descriptive model to assist in complex decision making preferred.
Prior experience in Systems design and processes.
Proven delivery of balanced Quality/Cost/Weight/Function/Timing attributes for components or subsystems.
Clear communication skills and highly motivated to exceed expectations in a constantly changing product landscape.
Formal Systems Engineering knowledge to solve complex problems.
Systems Engineering: Expertise in systems engineering principles, including P-diagrams, DFMEA, and functional safety.
Strong foundation in FMA processes and documentation.
Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, electric motors, battery systems, and traditional ICE components.
Knowledge of Driveline controls / communication system.
PPAP experience.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $115,500-$218,100.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
