Job summary
LaRue County Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant to support students with emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) and assist classrooms under teacher guidance. The role involves tutoring individuals and small groups, administering assessments, and handling clerical tasks to keep classroom routines running smoothly.
The assistant will supervise various activities, assist with attendance and records, and help plan instructional displays and materials.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of college coursework or an associate degree.
- Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics instruction as directed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Tutor individuals or small groups as directed by the teacher.
- Administer and score tests according to guidelines.
- Perform routine clerical duties to support classroom activities.
- Monitor and report student behavior per approved procedures.
- Assist with lab work and supervise library, playground, and lunch activities.
- Plan displays and work areas with the teacher.
- Assist with attendance, lunchroom reports, and cumulative/records.
- Direct group activities as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
