Ashley Furniture Industries in the United States seeks a Senior Director of Distribution Center Operations – East Region to own the operational performance of multiple large‑scale distribution and fulfillment centers. This hands‑on leadership role requires extensive travel (up to 40%) to drive tactical execution, build high‑performing teams, and ensure safety, productivity, accuracy, and cost metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience in multi‑site distribution.
• Experience with large-scale facilities (300K‑1M+ sq. ft.) and high throughput.
• Strong Lean/Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement background.
• Experience with furniture, retail, or consumer goods distribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day operational performance of several distribution centers across the East Region.
• Build, lead, mentor, and develop site leadership teams and drive accountability.
• Establish KPI discipline around productivity, safety, accuracy, cost per unit, fill rate, and shipping accuracy.
• Travel extensively (up to 40%) to coach on the floor and resolve challenges in real time.
• Design and execute strategic plans for efficiency gains and network scalability.
• Lead with data analytics and apply Lean/Continuous Improvement to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Ensure WMS and warehouse technologies are leveraged for visibility and performance.
• Oversee labor planning, inventory control, order fulfillment, and transportation alignment.
