CoreSite seeks a Director of Public Policy and Community Relations to shape local policy strategies and lead strategic communications across markets. The role partners with Marketing, Legal, and Corporate Development to advance CoreSite's public policy interests in a growing nationwide footprint.

The position requires hybrid work with at least two onsite days, up to 25% travel, and close collaboration with senior officials and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hybrid work environment with at least two onsite days per week.
• Travel up to 25% of the time to multiple CoreSite markets.
• Effective written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.
• Experience in government relations, economic development, or community engagement.
• Experience representing interests before government officials.
• Experience with data centers, AI, tax policy, energy, and sustainability.
• Experience handling contract lobbyists.
• Advanced political savvy and ability to connect with customers and communities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Marketing, Legal, and Corporate Development leaders to build out Public Policy and Community Engagement function.
• Collaborate with parent company Public Affairs Team for alignment and best practices.
• Direct and support local regulatory and community engagement plans to drive business objectives.
• Research and track policy issues across the U.S. and align strategy and risks.
• Develop strategies to influence policy objectives with state and local governments.
• Direct cross-functional teams on local issues and pre-development activities.
• Develop and direct communication strategies with community leaders in markets.
• Manage contract lobbyists, associations, and coalitions.
• Analyze performance against goals and report to leadership.
