Job summary

Southern Poverty Law Center is hiring a State Community Organizer for the Georgia State Office (East Georgia) to build power in local communities and lead advocacy campaigns. The role centers on outreach, coalition-building, and empowering community voices across the CSRA region.

You will engage volunteers, track progress, and collaborate with partners to advance social justice goals, reporting to regional leadership and contributing to SPLC’s mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of community organizing and 1 year working on campaigns/advocacy efforts.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize projects and events; lead outreach, campaigns, volunteer activities, mobilization efforts and advocacy campaigns at local and state levels.
• Promote community engagement; collaborate with ally organizations and activists to build community power.
• Plan for future work by SPLC and in collaboration with partners.
• Compile progress reports and community updates to stakeholders.
• Perform research and develop tools and educational materials.
• Perform other duties as required within the scope of the job.
