Job summary

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is seeking a State Community Organizer for Georgia State Office (West Georgia). This Columbus-based role builds grassroots networks, mobilizes volunteers, and advances social justice initiatives at local and state levels.

You will plan campaigns, promote community engagement with ally organizations, prepare progress reports, and develop educational materials while centering community voices in all work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of community organizing and 1 year working on campaigns and/or advocacy efforts.
• High School Diploma or GED.

What You'll Do

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of community organizing and 1 year working on campaigns and/or advocacy efforts; and
• High School Diploma or GED.

This is a non-exempt role, and the minimum starting salary is $61,825 ($29.72 per hour) annually. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Where & How You'll Work

This role has the following work designation options:

• Regional Work: Requires that employees reside in and be physically present during work hours in a specific geographic region (during the employee’s local time). The region could be part of a city, an entire county, or several states depending on the role.
• This position will report to the Regional Manager, Community Organizer.

Other Special Considerations

This job is performed under general office conditions and is not subject to any strenuous physical demands or dangerous conditions.
