Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a senior operations leader to manage the east coast hog production garage operations. The role directs maintenance, repairs, and service for a range of equipment, and oversees the development of schedules and record keeping.

You will supervise contractors, ensure safety programs, train staff, and collaborate with other departments. Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills are essential to drive efficiency in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of team management or project leadership experience.
• Purchasing/Negotiation experience for large equipment procurement.
• Diesel maintenance experience and large fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Directs east coast hog production garage operations and garage management.
• Directs quality control for in‑house and vendor repairs, equipment, materials, and supply usage.
• Oversees fleet operations maintenance and garage safety programs.
• Oversees contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Maintains working relationships with other departments.
• Oversees employee training and development; evaluates performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Communicates verbally and in writing.
