Job summary

Wellspring Advisors, LLC seeks an undergraduate intern to support the East African Civil Society (EACS) program in our Dupont Circle office, Washington, DC. The paid, full-time role involves administrative tasks, travel planning, and program research.

Ideal candidates study relevant fields and have strong English communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Prior nonprofit or Africa-related experience is a plus and discretion is essential when handling confidential information.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate students pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g. international development, human rights, organizational capacity-building)
• Experience living or working in sub-Saharan Africa preferred
• Fluency in English and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Track and compile current events
• Review and summarize grantee reports
• Support staff in planning and logistics of travel and meetings
• Perform administrative tasks (note-taking, file-organizing)
• Conduct research projects related to East African civil society
• Conduct analysis on East African civil society issues
• Record and compile notes in meetings and topics
• Attend Africa-related events in Washington, DC
