Job summary

Sargent Corporation is seeking a dedicated Earthwork Superintendent to supervise crews on infrastructure projects across Northern Maine. The role involves field supervision, ensuring safety, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, and maintaining project documentation.

Travel across the region is required; travel expenses and per diem are provided. The company emphasizes safety, benefits, ESOP participation, and a stable, employee-owned culture with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Four year Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred; or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience in Construction Supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• OSHA 30 hour training.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction efforts to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the design, budget and schedule constraints.
• Plan, direct and supervise workers engaged in construction activities.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and create a culture of safety.
• Provide safety feedback and coaching to foreman and crews.
• Maintain contract submittal files and record drawings.
• Mark work areas and contact Dig Safe to locate utilities.
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate work across crews and departments.
• Maintain quality control inspections and document results.
• Record actual hours worked and maintain project documentation.
• Represent Sargent in a positive manner with clients and community.
