Qualifications

• Experience operating construction equipment and understanding operating principles.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions in heavy equipment operations.
• Ability to read and interpret grade stakes and site plans.

• Ability to apply basic math to practical field tasks.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality per project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment on site or highway construction projects.
• Follows OSHA and Veit safety procedures and reports issues to supervisors.
• Performs routine inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists in training entry-level workers to perform maintenance and repair duties.
• Helps identify underground utilities before excavating and reviews trenching requirements with supervisors.
• Keeps project foreman and supervisors informed of actions affecting tasks or operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
