Job summary

Hadco Construction, a Utah-based excavation and heavy civil leader, seeks an Earthwork GPS Specialist to support office and field operations in Lehi, UT. You will handle earthwork modeling, plan takeoffs, GPS setup, drone-data integration, and ongoing GPS support for field crews.

The ideal candidate is technical, detail-oriented, and adaptable between modeling work and active construction sites, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in heavy civil construction, earthwork, surveying, estimating, GPS technology and modeling.
• Experience with AGTEK, AutoCAD, Trimble Office, Topcon software, or similar earthwork and modeling programs.
• Experience working with GPS systems, rovers, total stations, machine-control systems, or similar construction technology.
• Ability to read and understand civil construction drawings, grading plans, utility plans, site plans, footing and foundation plans, and structural drawings.
• Understanding of elevations, contours, slopes, surface models, and earthwork operations.
• Strong computer and technical troubleshooting skills.
• High level of verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and transition between tasks quickly and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with earthwork plan takeoffs and development of earthwork models.
• Review and interpret civil construction plans (grading, utility, site, footing, foundation, structural).
• Understand elevations, contours, slopes, and surface designs.
• Support GPS setup and operation for field crews and equipment.
• Troubleshoot GPS equipment, software and field connectivity issues.
• Provide ongoing GPS-related support across projects.
• Integrate drone data into earthwork models and project information.
• Coordinate with field crews, project teams, surveyors, engineers and other departments.
• Maintain organized project files, models, revisions, and GPS information.
• Travel to jobsites as needed to support field operations.
