Job summary

University of North Texas in Denton seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach GEOG 1710: Earth Science during Fall 2026. This in-person course meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:10 AM–12:30 PM on the UNT Denton campus.

The instructor prepares and delivers instruction, assesses student work, and maintains records. Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in geography, earth science, geology, environmental science, or a related field (or a master's with 18 graduate credit hours in the course

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in geography, earth science, geology, environmental science, or closely related field; or a master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the course discipline.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience is required.
  • Experience teaching introductory earth science, physical geography, geology, environmental science, or related course; familiarity with Canvas LMS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver GEOG 1710 Earth Science instruction, evaluate student work, and maintain required academic records.
  • Communicate with students, hold office hours, and comply with departmental and university policies.
  • Appointment depends on departmental teaching needs and available funding.
