Job summary

Acorn Training LTD is seeking an Early Years Trainer Assessor to manage a caseload of apprentices and employer-based learners. You will assess, train, coach and mentor to achieve apprenticeship standards while coordinating with employers to plan progression and ensure quality results.

Applicants should have Level 5 specialism, CAVA and AET qualifications, plus CV-ready experience in adult learning, safeguarding, and e-Portfolios. A full driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 5 in subject sector specialism (essential).
• Level 3 CAVA (essential) or equivalent.
• Level 3 AET (essential) or equivalent.
• GCSE English and Maths (A*-C or equivalent).
• BA in subject sector (desirable).
• Level 4 IQA (desirable).
• Level 5 CET or equivalent (desirable).
• IOSH Health and Safety at Work (desirable).
• First Aid at Work (desirable).
• Experience in CPD and working with employers and e-Portfolios (essential).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for an agreed caseload of apprentices and employer-based learners, providing high-quality training, coaching, mentoring and assessment to achieve their apprenticeship standard and qualifications.
• Assess learners' starting points to plan training covering knowledge, skills, and English/maths development.
• Develop and agree individual training plans with employers to prepare learners for final assessment/end point assessment.
• Provide induction programmes and clarify roles in the employer-learner relationship.
• Develop and implement effective training strategies and resources to support learner progress.
• Ensure training meets Acorn Training and AO standards and undergoes QA processes.
• Plan and monitor off-the-job training within the learner's plan and reviews.
• Support learners' English, maths and digital skills advancement.
• Ensure safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and welfare considerations are addressed.
• Organise assessment opportunities and regular progress review meetings with learners and employers.
• Provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers throughout the programme.
