Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking personnel to transport freight across dock areas to and from trailers during the early shift. The role involves operating forklifts and hand trucks, verifying freight docs, and securing loads for transport.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to lift heavy freight. Prior warehousing or dock experience is preferred, with adherence to safety and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck as needed.
• Verify freight documentation against description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
