Job Description

This opportunity involves joining WSP's Boston, MA office as an Electrical Engineer. Be involved in projects with the Massachusetts Transportation Team, contributing to the design, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial projects in both public and private sectors. Tasks include research, design, and development of substations, power distribution, renewable energy, and control systems, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Your Impact
  • Assist with data collection and analysis related to substation components, equipment specifications, and compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Support the design of electrical systems including single-line diagrams, substation layouts, grounding, and lightning protection.
  • Perform routine engineering functions and assist in equipment sizing, wiring, panel design, and safety considerations.
  • Verify site characteristics and assist with engineering, testing, and construction procedures.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment, and power distribution under supervision.
  • Create accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Complete training and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical design engineering for large projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Good communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and work independently or in teams.
  • Proficiency with technical writing, software, and tools like CADD and AutoCADD electrical.
  • Commitment to safety and company policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Relevant internship experience.
  • Membership in professional organizations.
