Stratford School in Laguna Niguel is seeking an Early Preschool Assistant Teacher to support children ages 2 to 3. This part-time role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM in a nurturing classroom environment.

You will assist with daily activities, guide play and learning, and maintain a safe, clean classroom. Communication with parents and collaboration with co-teachers are essential to support each child's growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 6 semesters or 9 quarter early childhood education units.
• Patience, compassion, and a love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior preschool teaching experience is a plus.

About the Role

As an Early Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will foster a nurturing, safe, and vibrant classroom environment for children ages 2 to 3. Working closely alongside partner teachers, you'll help guide daily activities, encourage creative learning, and support each child's individual growth through positive verbal engagement and caring supervision.

• Create a nurturing, responsive environment that promotes positive development of social and emotional competencies.
• Communicate daily with parents and guardians while collaborating closely with co-teachers and school staff
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and clean classroom environment following all safety and licensing guidelines
• Assist children during meals, snacks, rest periods, and routine personal care (including toileting and diaper changing as needed)
• Perform other related classroom and school support duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

• High School Diploma and 6 semesters or 9 quarter early childhood education units shall include courses that cover the general areas of early child development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior teaching experience with preschool students is a plus
