Job summary

Commonpoint Queens is seeking an Early Pathways Advisor to support 9th and 10th grade students in pursuing early post-secondary options. You will deliver advisement, workshops, and family engagement to help students explore college, vocational paths, and certificate programs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with school staff and administration, development of planning tools, and tracking student progress using digital platforms. Bilingual Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, school counseling, or related field.
• Experience working with adolescents in urban environments and promoting educational success.
• Strong ability to develop and deliver college and career readiness programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide college and career readiness advisement to 9th and 10th grade students with focus on early post-secondary exploration.
• Deliver individual and small group advisement sessions to help students understand college, vocational programs, military pathways, certificate programs, and other careers.
• Design and implement workshops for students and families on high school success, post-secondary systems, financial literacy, and college affordability.
