Job summary

LEARN LA is seeking a Before School Youth Leader to supervise and engage approximately 20 students at elementary and middle schools. The role runs from 6:15am to 9:15am and requires a positive example, punctuality, and the ability to collaborate with a site team.

You will lead activities, provide tutoring and homework help, and communicate student needs to teachers and parents. This is a part-time hourly role with assignments across LEARN sites, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or two years of college coursework; district exam may be required.
• Experience working with youth in educational settings is desirable.
• Ability to communicate with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety of assigned students during program hours.
• Lead academic, enrichment, and recreational activities for ~20 students.
• Provide tutoring and homework help using provided materials.
• Model appropriate behavior and professional appearance.
• Arrive on time and help with setup and cleanup.
• Promote positive interactions among students and staff.
• Communicate student needs to Coordinator, teachers, and parents as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with program policies and safety guidelines.
