General Purpose:

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes making eye contact, smiling, greeting all customers courteously, treating fellow associates with respect, following company standards, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The associate will perform various tasks across store areas as needed, contributing to customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions:

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment.
• Maintain a clutter-free sales floor and report unsafe conditions.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow associates.
• Assist customers with merchandise, operate registers, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to customer service calls and issues, involving leadership when necessary.
• Support the company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the store.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
• Conduct daily merchandise recovery and presentation to standards.
• Expedite merchandise receipts to the sales floor, merchandising according to guidelines.
• Understand loss prevention policies and safeguard company assets.
• Follow policies regarding stock disposal, transactions, and cash handling.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership in a friendly and respectful manner. Basic math skills used in retail are required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to use store equipment including registers and PCs.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift over 25 pounds.
• Use janitorial and store equipment as needed.
