General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows all company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. They perform a range of functions across the store as needed and may be asked to perform additional tasks to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining awareness of the environment.
• Create a safe shopping environment by keeping the sales floor clutter-free and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates.
• Assist Customers with merchandise, register operations, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Respond promptly to Customer Service calls and handle issues courteously, involving Store Leadership when necessary.
• Support and represent the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks regularly to maintain cleanliness of the store environment.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
• Conduct daily store organization tasks, including sizing, recovery, and merchandising.
• Expedite receipt of merchandise to the sales floor, ensuring proper presentation and familiarity with products.
• Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, and adhere to all policies regarding cash and merchandise handling.
• Work efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Skills

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Leadership in a friendly manner. Basic mathematical skills required.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Use of all store equipment including registers and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasional lifting over 25 pounds; stockroom shifts may require lifting over 20 pounds.
• Use of janitorial and store equipment as needed.
